This classic abstract style lava stone garden statue has been one of our best sellers for a number of years with it's simple lines making it ideal for any garden . This abstract statue in lava stone shows a curvy figure leaning sideways with one arm pointing upwards with the other arm in a downwards position, leading on to a lava stone pillar, which is in turn attached to the lower part of the garden statue. There is a teardrop shaped opening between the waist and the arm which allows scenery to show through. This also allows greater definition of the outline of this abstract garden statue. This abstract garden statue of a mother and child is made from lava stone, which is pale grey in colour and carved by local craftsmen. This is a solid statue standing on a rectangular base and this abstract garden carving is made up of sharp angles and gentle curves, which give this mother and child garden ornament depth and contrast. The child is depicted by a small round head cradled by the cylindrical shape of the mothers arm in a protective manner. This is a very striking lava stone garden statue of a face, hand carved by local craftsmen. These faces garden ornaments are influenced by the well known carvings from the Easter Islands. Unlike our black marble face statue, this lava stone carving has a wide structure and a completely different expression. The forehead of the statue is only slightly wider than the chin, with very little tapering of the face. The eyes of the statue slant upwards with clearly defined eyelids and the eyebrows lead down to form the long nose which has wide flared nostrils. Our statues mouth is in a neutral position, with a large tongue protruding almost down as far as the bottom of the chin. Their faces and upper bodies are joined, with their arms wrapped lovingly around each other. The man has his arms around the woman's waist, and the woman has hers around her lover's neck and appears to be pulling him closer due to the position of her elbow. Below their waists, the sculpture divides and curved round to form the base of this garden sculpture. The gap between their lower bodies accentuates the embrace of this loving couple.
